John’s passion for strength training began after watching Strongman as a child. For his 10th birthday, he received a set of weights and that was all it took. Now more than 20 years later, he is considered one of, if not the, strongest powerlifters in the world. His GOAT status became solidified after a long stretch of record-breaking competition victories that included becoming the first and only athlete in the 90-kilogram weight class to total over 1,000 kilograms (2,204.6 pounds). John has taken part in 28 sanctioned powerlifting competitions over a full decade of competing and has won 24 of them. He is also actively holding multiple All-Time World Records, having broken many of them in the past.
